As of late 2026, no cryptocurrency platform is officially licensed to operate in Vietnam under the new regulatory regime.
Following Law No. 71/2025/QH15 (effective Jan 1, 2026), which formally recognized digital assets as property, the government initiated a 5-year pilot framework via Resolution 05/2025/NQ-CP.
Under Decision 96/QĐ-BTC (Jan 2026), the licensing application process officially opened with a mid-January deadline. The requirements are extremely stringent, requiring a charter capital of VND 10 trillion and 65% institutional ownership. Only around 5 firms are expected to be approved in phase one.
Under Resolution 05, fiat-backed stablecoins (such as USDT and USDC) are strictly prohibited.
Despite having one of the highest cryptocurrency adoption rates globally, the lack of a licensed domestic market means that nearly all crypto trading in Vietnam currently occurs on offshore platforms. Because no verified licensed entities exist yet, we do not publish a ranked "Top Platforms" list for Vietnam to avoid implicitly endorsing unregulated offshore usage.
This page will be updated to a full ranked hub once the pilot framework publishes its first approved licensees.
